Hoodcote Avenue – Rear Extension & Loft Extension

At Hoodcote Avenue, our team was appointed to provide the full structural design for a major home transformation, including a double storey side extension, full-width rear extension, a loft conversion with rear dormers, and several internal modifications to improve space and light. 

Following a detailed site visit, we developed a bespoke structural scheme that addressed both the existing building and the new works. Our scope included: 

• Structural support for both existing and new structures, ensuring stability throughout the construction process and in the final design. 

• Design of new masonry wall panels to accommodate large door and window openings, with checks carried out on the existing masonry to confirm adequacy. 

• Foundation design for the new extension together with verification checks on the existing foundations. 

• Reconfiguration of the roof structure, including detailed design for skylights and a large feature rooflight over the new ground floor extension. 

• Engineering of new rafters, joists, and floor structures to deliver strong, adaptable, and compliant spaces. 

The works were supported by a comprehensive package of structural drawings, specifications, and calculation reports, enabling smooth collaboration with the wider project team. 

Our design delivered robust, efficient, and practical structural solutions, ensuring the building could safely accommodate the new extensions while integrating seamlessly with the existing fabric
